Hi! We are LAMPS.
We are a small family business dedicated to creating handcrafted wooden lamps and other beautiful objects from stunning Estonian wood that comes to us directly from the forest. Our goal is simple: to bring light and the beauty of nature into your home.
LAMPS was founded on the simple but powerful belief that sustainability and beauty should go hand in hand. What began as a personal passion has grown into a craft rooted in respect for nature, materials, and thoughtful design.
Johannes
LAMPS began with him. He is an electrician, builder, and passionate craftsman who believed that beautiful pieces of wood shouldn’t simply be burned. Instead, he transforms them into unique lamps that bring warmth and light into every home. Johannes personally selects each piece of wood and crafts every product by hand from start to finish.
Magda
She takes care of the website and social media, keeps everything organized, and brings fresh ideas so people can find us. If you send an email to LAMPS, it’s Magda who will reply.
We are passionate about creating exceptional, handcrafted wooden products that not only serve a practical purpose but also tell a story of craftsmanship, nature, and transformation. Each product we make is truly unique, as no two pieces of wood are alike.
Our process begins with a careful selection of wood that would otherwise be wasted. We choose pieces that are often overlooked – wood that is too small or irregular for industrial use. Instead of allowing it to be burned or discarded, we give it a second life by transforming it into something meaningful. This commitment to sustainability is at the core of everything we do at LAMPS.
Once a piece of wood is selected, we begin the transformation. For our lamps, we remove the bark to reveal the natural beauty underneath, then sand the surface carefully until it is smooth and refined. A precisely measured hole is drilled for the light fixture and cable, ensuring both functionality and elegance. Each lamp is then treated with linseed oil, which protects the wood and enhances its natural grain.
For our candle holders, we use reclaimed wood blocks that would otherwise go to waste. We drill spaces for tealights and sand each piece until it feels balanced and smooth. Like our lamps, they are finished with linseed oil, resulting in warm, natural pieces that bring a cozy atmosphere into any space.
At LAMPS, we don’t just craft products – we create stories. Every piece of wood has its own history, and our role is to highlight its character and beauty. All of our products are handmade in Estonia with care, precision, and deep respect for the material.
