About LAMPS – Handcrafted Wooden Products with a Purpose

LAMPS was founded on the simple but powerful belief that sustainability and beauty should go hand in hand. We are passionate about creating exceptional, handcrafted wooden products that not only serve a practical purpose but also tell a story of craftsmanship, nature, and the art of transformation. Our mission is to take discarded, reclaimed wood and turn it into something beautiful, useful, and lasting. Each product we make is truly unique, as no two pieces of wood are alike.

Our process begins with a careful selection of wood that would otherwise be wasted. We specifically choose pieces that are beautiful but have been overlooked – wood that is too small or too irregular to be used in other industries. Instead of allowing it to be burned or discarded, we give it a second life by transforming it into something extraordinary. This commitment to sustainability is at the core of everything we do at LAMPS.

Once a piece of wood is selected, we begin the transformation. For our lamps, we remove the bark, revealing the pure wood underneath. The wood is then sanded meticulously to smooth out any rough edges, creating a polished and refined surface. We then drill a carefully measured hole for the light fixture and cable, ensuring that the lamp will be both functional and beautiful. Once the lamp is assembled, we treat it with linseed oil, which nourishes and protects the wood, enhancing its natural grain and ensuring that it will last for many years to come.

For our candle holders, we take reclaimed wood blocks that would otherwise be discarded. We carefully drill holes for tealights, ensuring a perfect fit, and then sand each block until it is smooth and even. Just like our lamps, the candle holders are treated with linseed oil to bring out the natural beauty of the wood. The result is a stunning, sustainable product that adds a warm and inviting glow to any room.

All of our products are handmade in Estonia, where skilled artisans work with care, attention to detail, and a deep respect for the materials they use.
